ACT, a Fujitsu company, is proud to announce that Fujitsu, ACT, Merseyrail and Greater Anglia have been shortlisted in the Transport Times National Transport Awards for the category of Transport Team/Partnership of the Year. Fujitsu’s STARdesktop, smart enablement, early adoption project displayed exemplary collaboration across the four organisations to deploy smart ticketing on Rail.
By integrating Fujitsu’s STARdesktop with ACT’s Remote POST Service, smart ticketing is now available to Merseyrail and Greater Anglia passengers. Since its deployment, further products and functionality have been made available to passengers, which is helping to drive the switch from traditional paper tickets to meet franchise commitments.
This month will also see the completion of a smart-enablement project for TfW (Transport for Wales). This brings to a close Phase one of smart enablement with the service supporting just over 1300 STARdesktops across 9 TOCs. Phase two is already underway with the introduction of additional functionality and requirements scoping of the new addition to the STAR suite STARtablet which will also be supported using ACT’s Remote POST Service.
